At Optimus SBR, we don’t just talk about making a difference—we boldly act on it, and our annual Play It Forward (PIF) event is proof of our commitment to community impact and our dynamic company culture. This year, our ambitions soared, and we proudly broke records, raising over $47,000 for our incredible partner charities: Fort York Food Bank, Engage & Change, and St. Felix Centre. These organizations are vital lifelines, providing critical support to those in our community facing homelessness and hunger.
But PIF 2024 wasn’t just a fundraising event—it was a celebration of connection, creativity, and culture. We turned up the heat with a Tropical Paradise theme, packed with vibrant outfits, delectable tropical cuisine, and unforgettable performances during our “Optimus Has Talent” showcase. Our teams brought their A-game, delivering hilariously entertaining and impressively creative acts that highlighted the bold and fearless spirit of Optimus SBR.
The excitement didn’t stop there. We raised funds through raffles, silent auctions, entertainment bids, and expanded our impact by partnering with our external networks for the Community Care Kit Challenge. Together, we donated Hygiene Kits, Winter Warmth Kits, and Greatest Needs Kits to those in urgent need, demonstrating that collaboration amplifies impact.
At Optimus SBR, we champion bold culture, and we’re proud to turn that energy into meaningful action for our communities. Here’s to another year of pushing boundaries and making a difference—together!
About Our Partner Charities
Fort York Food Bank (FYFB): a vital service that aims to prevent homelessness of Toronto’s most vulnerable groups. They help feed those in need and provide counselling, training, and advocacy services.
Engage and Change: provides opportunities for individuals and companies to engage in hands-on group volunteer projects that assemble kits to help alleviate poverty. Kits are distributed directly to local communities through frontline social service agencies and homeless shelters directly to those in need.
St. Felix Centre: provides compassionate and safe services to marginalized communities who are experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and other complex challenges.
