Our Optimus SBR team is riding the wave of community impact, and nothing showcases this better than our annual fundraising extravaganza, Play It Forward (PIF)! This year, we smashed records by raising over $45,000 for our partner charities: Fort York Food Bank, Engage & Change, and St. Felix Centre. We view these organizations as essential lifelines for those in our community experiencing homelessness and hunger. Their work is both crucial and in urgent need of support.

This year PIF was not only a fundraising event – it was an unforgettable Tropical Paradise adventure filled with fun, flavor, and laughter! Everyone sported their most stylish tropical outfits, enjoyed delectable tropical cuisine, and were dazzled by “Optimus Has Talent” which featured impressive and hilariously entertaining performances by our very own employees.

During our PIF event, we raised funds through a raffle, silent auction, and entertainment bids. Plus, we expanded our PIF reach by engaging our external networks in the Community Care Kit Challenge to make donations of Hygiene, Winter Warmth, and Greatest Needs Kits to those in need.

About Our Partner Charities

Fort York Food Bank (FYFB): a vital service that aims to prevent homelessness of Toronto’s most vulnerable groups. They help feed those in need and provide counselling, training, and advocacy services.

Engage and Change: provides opportunities for individuals and companies to engage in hands-on group volunteer projects that assemble kits to help alleviate poverty. Kits are distributed directly to local communities through frontline social service agencies and homeless shelters directly to those in need.

St. Felix Centre: provides compassionate and safe services to marginalized communities who are experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and other complex challenges.
